RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program)
The Retired and Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) is the largest organized senior volunteer program in the nation and is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service. This program is sponsored by the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners and administered by the Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disability Services, provides opportunities for people aged 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choices of volunteer assignments working in community wide projects throughout Cumberland County, New Jersey. RSVP has 280 volunteers working in 46 volunteer sites. Our volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours to over forty hours a week. In 2019, 300 volunteers provided over 55,000 hours serving their community in 36 stations while during the COVID-19 pandemic, 116 volunteers provided over 20,000 hours at 12 volunteers stations in 2021.

Volunteers are the “Helping Hands” of the majority of non-profit organizations and are often in short supply. RSVP volunteer’s help these agencies meet the priority needs of the community. The staff of RSVP will be happy to match your skills to the specific needs of our community’s agencies. We can open doors to make the right contact for you as a volunteer. We're always interested in hearing about your volunteer experience and will contact you periodically to make certain you are satisfied with your assignment.

RSVP of Cumberland County New Jersey needs volunteers for the following sites:
||Needs volunteers to mentor youth, ages 6-12, through a consortium of faith-based partnerships in Bridgeton, Millville, and Vineland
(Senior Health Insurance Program)
|State sponsored program needs volunteers to assist and council seniors with health insurance questions, mandatory training and monthly meeting
|Margaret Winchester Enrichment Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired
||Volunteers needed to assist clients by providing escort and guide services, participating in activities and in daily programs of the center
|American Red Cross
||Volunteers needed in the Blood Services Department that can volunteer 3-4 hours once a week in different blood drives throughout Cumberland County
|Code Blue Project
||Needs volunteers to assist with the preparation of the "Warming Centers". Centers are located in Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland.
