6/7/2021 - Cumberland County Library Teen Blackout Poetry Contest Winner

***For Immediate Press Release:*****

Keira Schaefer, 13, of New Hampshire was the winner of the Cumberland County Library’s Teen Blackout Poetry Contest. Blackout Poetry is a mixture of poetry and art made by taking discarded pages from a newspaper, magazine, or book, and blacking out the unwanted words to create a poem. The contest was held in April in celebration of National Poetry Month.
Although she lives out of state, Keira found the contest online and talked her parents into taking a mini vacation to New Jersey to pick up her prize of a certificate and Amazon gift card. The family enjoyed their trip and remarked on how much fun they had on their NJ visit. Congratulations, Keira!
