10/13/2020 - National Cybersecurity Awareness Month - Week 3: Telecommuting

This week’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month tip is focused on Telecommuting! CISO Stan Field, Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae and Director Jim Matlock are joined today with John Carr, County Counsel, and Melissa Strickland, Assistant County Counsel. Telecommuting is a work arrangement in which some (or all) of the work is performed at an off-campus work site such as the home or in an office space near home. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many are bringing home their work computers and connecting to the office form their home. Some tips to help maintain a high level of Cybersecurity while telecommuting include:

  1. Strong Passwords and enable two-factor authentication
  2. Enable automatic updates for all routers and modems
  3. Connect to home WIFi using a Strong Password
