3/21/2013 - BookMyne App

BookMyne app

With the SirsiDynix BookMyne™ app, it’s quicker and easier to access Cumberland County Library and the LOGIN system on the go! You can manage your account, search your library’s catalog, and find suggested reading instantly with your Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.

To start, through Googlemaps integration, the user can get directions to the library. The user can also set up the app to be notified a selectable number of days in advance before materials are due.

The app can be used to place holds on library materials, e-mail friends regarding interesting library materials (directly from the app), and create personalized lists of books. Importantly, any changes made to the library system are immediately reflected to library users in the results.

In the “My Account” section, users can check the status of checked out materials and items on their holds list, as well as keep track of any fines due and/or accruing.

Through the app, users can search the library collection anytime and anywhere by keyword, author, title, subject or barcode. Using the camera functions of the user’s smart device, the user can scan a barcode from any place and determine library availability immediately, with no typing.

BookMyne can also be used to find book recommendations. The app features integration with outside sources, providing the ability to search through a large number of award-winners (through Goodreads) and similarly specialized book lists (through The New York Times).  As always, there is a direct link to determine library availability. Social media awareness is represented through the ability to look up and “read” friends’ bookshelves through Goodreads (a Goodreads account is necessary).

Cumberland County Library users can download BookMyne  from Apple’s App Store or from Google Play (for Android).
