Mixed Battery Recycling In Cumberland County

Cumberland County residents should recycle used batteries, not dispose of them with household trash. Batteries contain components that could contaminate ground water sources if not disposed of properly.
Cumberland County residents should recycle used batteries, not dispose of them with household trash.
Household batteries used in watches, calculators, pagers, hearing aids, and other small electronic devices, as well as automobile batteries, may be recycled at one of our three household hazardous waste days held throughout the year. Many municipalities also have local collection and drop off programs for their residents.

The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation has placed boxes inside many stores. Residents can drop off nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal-hydride, lithium-ion, and small sealed lead acid batteries use in cordless tools and other portable electronic products.

For more information about recycling programs in Cumberland County, contact the Cumberland County Improvement Authority at (856) 825-3700 or visit their web site at www.ccia-net.com.
