Public Works To Hold Public Information Session

On Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 3 pm to 6 pm, the Cumberland County Public Works Department will be holding a Public Information Session for eight upcoming Fiscal Year 2011 Federal Aid projects. The meeting will be held in the Cumberland County Library Conference Room, located in the lower level of the Cumberland County Library Building, 800 E. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ.

Plans and department staff will be available to discuss the following projects:

• C.R.553 (Main Street) from Lummis Mill Road to C.R.610 (Maple Avenue) in Fairfield and Lawrence Townships and from C.R.732 (Methodist Road) to Strawberry Avenue in Commercial and Downe Townships: the project consists of milling and overlaying the travel lanes with associated drainage and guiderail upgrades. Estimated cost: $2,000,000.
  
  
• C.R.553 & 611 (Centerton Road) from N.J.S.H.56 (Landis Avenue) to Salem County Line in Upper Deerfield Township: the project consists of milling and overlaying the travel lanes with associated drainage upgrades. Estimated cost: $1,350,000.
  
  
• C.R.555 (Main Road) from Chestnut Avenue to Maple Avenue in the City of Vineland: the project consists of milling and overlaying the roadway with associated drainage and traffic signal upgrades. Estimated cost: $850,000.
  
  
• C.R.627 (Silver Run Road) from C.R.670 (Buckshutem Road) to C.R.555 (Dividing Creek Road) in the City of Millville: the project consists of overlaying the roadway with associated drainage upgrades. Estimated cost: $750,000.
  
  
• C.R.670 (Buckshutem Road/Mauricetown Causeway) from C.R.610 (Cedar Street) to N.J.S.H.47 (Delsea Drive) in the City of Millville and Commercial & Maurice River Townships. The project consists of milling and overlaying the travel lanes with associated drainage and guiderail upgrades. Estimated cost: $2,478,000.
  
  
• Intersection of C.R.619 (Wheat Road) and East Avenue in the City of Vineland. Installation of new traffic signal. Estimated cost: $175,000.
  
  
• Intersection of C.R.672 (Brewster Road) and Chestnut Avenue in the City of Vineland. Replacement of existing traffic signal with associated paving and striping. Estimated cost: $350,000.
  
  
• Intersection of C.R.681 (Oak Road) and West Avenue in the City of Vineland. Installation of new traffic signal. Estimated cost $160,000.

The projects are anticipated to be bid for construction in autumn 2011 with most construction taking place in the spring of 2012.
