5/28/2011 - Cumberland County's Most Wanted

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department seeks the public's help in finding two of its "Most Wanted" fugitives.

Melissa E. Cross, 32, is sought on three Cumberland County Superior Court family warrants for failing to pay $30,905.06 in child support. Cross is described as a black female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. She has a tattoo on her right arm (“Melissa”). Her last known address was East Park Avenue in Vineland.

Billy D. Carpenter, 31, is sought on a Cumberland County Superior Court family warrant for failing to pay $17,753.54 in child support. Carpenter also is being sought for a Cumberland County Superior Court criminal warrant for failure to appear. Carpenter is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 145 pounds, with green eyes and blonde hair. He has a tattoo on his left arm (“Billy”) and tribal design, and a tattoo on his right arm (“Weed”). His last known address was Lexington Avenue in Lawrence Township.

Both of these individuals should be considered dangerous. Sheriff Robert A. Austino asks anyone who comes in contact with Melissa E. Cross or Billy D. Carpenter to call the police immediately. You should contact state or local police, or the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department TIP-LINE at (856) 451-0625. Citizens are reminded not to approach, confront, or detain these fugitives.
