7/18/2011 - Legislators Urge You To Become A Tourist

Third District state legislators Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly members John Burzichelli and Celeste Riley are encouraging residents to visit and support local attractions and businesses.

They include many cultural, historic and recreational sites in Cumberland and Salem counties.

"Our district is home to many parks, historic sites, golf courses and other great family-oriented attractions," Sweeney said. "We encourage our constituents to take advantage of these attractions and support our local businesses when they are looking for activities to do with family and friends."

"In addition to good family value, our region is also home to many wineries and theaters that serve as excellent entertainment for adults looking to enjoy an evening out or an afternoon stroll," Burzichelli added.

"Many of these local attractions are not only enjoyable, but inexpensive," Riley said. "In addition to supporting our local South Jersey businesses, residents would inevitably save money on gas, tolls and other expenses associated with traveling to out-of-town destinations."
