SALARY RANGE: $29,839 - $38,201
HOURS/WEEK: 40 (shift work)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direction, performs a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks involved in masonry, plastering, carpentry, painting, plumbing, sheet metal, electrical, glazing, mechanical, and other types of maintenance work; does related work as required. Replaces light bulbs, fuses, wall plates, fixture cords and switches. Replaces broken glass and putties. Cleans tools and equipment. Keeps simple records. Fires and maintains low pressure boilers. Familiarizes oneself with the normal operation of blowers, motors, regulators, and reports promptly any that are not operating normally.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a low pressure fireman's license issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry. Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and practices and of occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in performing general maintenance and repair work. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties of which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.
