HOURS/WEEK: 35 hrs per week

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direction, performs a variety of routine, repetitive, non complex clerical tasks which involve computing, classifying accounts, records and recording numerical data and the reconciliation of accounts, records and documents in order to keep sets of financial records complete; post entries in cash books, journals, ledgers and/or other records; review financial data to ensure correct account and appropriation are cited; reviews expense accounts for funding or budgetary limitation and refers discrepancies to high level staff; gives routine information in persons and over the telephone; keeps ongoing records for each month report and end of year reports; does related work and typing as required. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to examine and verify that entries, postings and totals are accurate and supporting documents are included. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and find averages/percentages. Must have knowledge of office methods, practices, equipment and of performing routine, repetitive and non complex tasks involved in keeping financial and/or other records. Must have the ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written directions. Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
