Starting Salary: $31,277


Duties:
Under direction, performs varied simple and moderately strenuous physical tasks involved in cleaning and maintaining offices, furniture, buildings, and grounds; making minor repairs to buildings or equipment; does other related duties as required.

Knowledge and Abilities:
Dusts, cleans, rooms, offices and polishes furniture, fixtures and woodwork.
Washes and cleans windows, sweeps, washes, strips, waxes, and polishes floors, and vacuums rugs.
Runs power cleaning equipment, floor machines cleans and oils the equipment and changes brushes and accessories.
Knowledge of procedures, materials, and tools used in washing, waxing, vacuuming and other work.
Mops or scrapes sticky or heavy liquids from floors.
Minor adjustment to sweepers, vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and other equipment.
Makes minor repairs to heating, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools.
Moves and controls heavy equipment, carries and sets up ladders and scaffolding, and works from ladders and scaffolds.
Works on ladders and scaffolds to change light bulbs, replace venetian blinds, wash walls, and so forth.
Able to move objects weighing 50 pounds and moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment.
Mow lawns, trim hedges, rakes leaves, etc.
Plant and care for flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Keep grounds free of debris and dangerous obstructions.
Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals.
Shovels snow, and salt on icy surfaces to prevent slipping and learn to operate motorized snow removal equipment.
Maintains and makes minor repairs to hand tools, automotive and mechanical equipment, and facilities.
Mixes and pours cement and/or rakes asphalt (hot &cold mix) to repair and patch walks or recreational areas.
Loads and unloads trucks.
Understands, remembers, and carries out oral and written directions.
Follow safety precautions and to report potentially hazardous conditions.

License:
Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License

Hours:
Shifts vary and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. 40 Hours per week work.

Note:
Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing that includes drug screening, criminal background check, and verifications of clean driving record. Including ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
