Starting Salary: $42,656


Definition: Under direction, supervises and works with a group of employees engaged in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds; does related work as required.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in work involving the cleaning and maintenance of furniture,
fixtures, offices, ordering supplies, scheduling and buildings.

Requirements:
Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
Ability to work independently and the ability to successfully operate in a detail-oriented environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the County. Ability to analyze problems, organize assigned work, and develop effective work methods.

Examples of Work:
Inspects, analyzes, and determines the cleaning work to be done and the materials and supplies needed.
Develops work plans for cleaning and maintenance work and develops effective work methods.
Gives assignments to employees engaged in cleaning maintenance work and supervises the performance of their work.
Supervises the cleaning and care of buildings, the cleaning of desks, chairs, rugs, windows, and other furniture and fixtures, the sweeping and washing , stripping of floors, and the applying of wax and polish floors.
Distributes and supervises the use of cleaning and general maintenance equipment, materials, and supplies.
Prepares and maintains records of personnel, time, equipment, materials, and supplies and work completed.
Establishing, maintaining, and developing effective work procedures used in obtaining, storing, safeguarding, distributing, and supervising proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
Ability to analyze building cleaning problems.

Hours:
Shifts vary and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. 40 Hours per week work.

Note:
Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing that includes drug screening, criminal background check, and verifications of clean driving record. Ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
