Salary: $37,000 – 47,000
(Based on Education & Experience)

Duties:
Under the direction of the Veterans’ Service Officer, is responsible for the dissemination of information relating to the rights and benefits of war veterans; interview veterans and their dependents to provide them with clear and accurate information relating to the various benefits provided under national and state laws; conduct field investigations relating to benefit claims cases and prepares the necessary forms required by the Veterans’ Administration; collect and distribute information of varied types concerning veteran’s rights and benefits; establish and maintain records and files; other related work as required.

Requirements:
Ability to analyze and interpret national, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies dealing with veterans’ rights and apply them to specific cases; ability to assist veterans in filing claims for unemployment insurance and disability; ability to prepare reports and correspondence; ability to abide by confidentiality standards and requirements; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform all duties of this position.

Appointees will be required to possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

Veteran status preferred.


Hours:
Full-time, 35 hours per week

Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
