Librarian I (Part-Time) – 2 Openings
Cumberland County Library
One Year, Grant-Funded Position
Starting Salary: $19.31 per hour
Duties: Reports to the Library Director. Develops and distributes job search information and assists job seekers; assists library users with navigating and completing job applications; aids with resume construction and composition; may provide instruction and technical expertise to nonprofessional and paraprofessional staff; may compose publicity releases or program announcements for media, newsletters, or other publications; does other related duties as required.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master’s program in Library Science. Ability
to effectively read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual preferred. Possess an understanding of computers and the internet, with proficiency in internet search techniques. Experience with email account creation and usage. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Familiarity with career guidance, job seeking procedures, and resume formation.
Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week. Some evenings and every other Saturday required.
Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
