Starting Salary: $33,258

Duties: Under direction of a supervisor, assists in the development of land use plans for municipal, county, regional, and metropolitan land areas or portions thereof; conducts surveys in an area and gathers and interprets information; prepares maps representing existing and proposed land use and other data for submission or presentation to state, municipality, or county; assists in the coordination and administration of planning programs and activities; designs and prepares charts representing land use planning data; may assist in designing and drafting proposals and prepare graphic information; does other related duties as required. GIS and graphics capabilities are a plus.

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by 21 semester hour credits in professional planning subjects.* One (1) year of professional experience in municipal, county, regional, or state planning.** Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

*Possession of a current and valid credential as a Certified Planner issued by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) may be substituted for the educational requirement.

**Possession of a Master’s degree in Planning from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of indicated experience.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
