Senior Citizen Program Aide (Part-Time As-Needed) – 3 positions
Starting Salary: $14.26/hr.
Duties: Reports to the Meals on Wheels Project Director; serves as a back-up driver for home delivered meals - drives, loads vehicle and delivers meals to client homes; assists in packing and preparation, ordering and counting of food for delivery; maintains responsibility for delivery of meals; reports any unusual circumstances to supervisor; undergoes training as necessary to enhance efficiency; operates County gas pump to put fuel into County vehicle each afternoon or evening as needed at 800 E. Commerce St.; maintains daily driver log; completes vehicle mileage and condition reports; demonstrates full understanding of safe driving, accident reporting procedure and food handling processes; observes and assesses clients regarding their needs for meals and reports pertinent information to supervisor; collects and secures client contributions in accordance with policy; makes referrals for clients for further assistance as necessary ; and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Excellent driving record. Ability to follow procedures and daily instructions. Capability to carry up to 45 pounds.
Hours: As needed, four hours per day. Not to exceed 19.5 hours per week.
Note: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness screening and criminal background checks.
