Library Assistant
Cumberland County Library
Part-Time Position
Salary Range: $23,449 - $32,443 (To Be Prorated Based on Hours Worked)

Duties: Reports to the Library Director; under close supervision, preforms a variety of routine nonprofessional library tasks associated with conducting all children’s programming and activities. Such tasks include but are not limited to charging and discharging materials to users; computing and collecting fines; answering patron inquiries about library resources, hours, offices, and personnel along with availability and reserve of popular or new publications; assisting with the processing of library materials for Technical Services; reviewing library membership applications for completeness and accuracy. Also performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Demonstrated ability to comprehend the effective use of library electronic and/or manual recording and information systems. Ability to effectively read, write, speak and understand English.
Hours: 12 hours per week. Work shifts to be determined.
Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
