Field Representative, Health Education (Provisional, Pending Civil Service Procedures)

Salary Range: $37,122 – $50,494

-or-

Health Educator (Provisional, Pending Civil Service Procedures)

Salary Range: TBD

 

Open to:              Open to residents of Cumberland County.

 
Duties:                 Field Representative, Health Education:  Under direction, conducts the field and office work involved in carrying out specific projects in one or more health education programs; does related work as required. 
Health Educator:  Under direction, assesses individual and community health needs; plans, implements and evaluates effective health education programs; coordinates health education services; serves as a resource person in health education, and communicates health and health education needs, concerns and resources; does related work as required.

                                        

Requirements: EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Community Education, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.

 

                               LICENSE:  Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey

 
*The following are additional requirements for the Health Educator title:

                              

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience assessing community health education needs and, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of diversified health education programs in a local health department or state or local health agency. NOTE:  A Master's degree in one of the areas listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

 
CERTIFICATION: Applicants must possess a certification as a Certified Health

Education Specialist (CHES) issued by the National Commission for Health Education                    Credentialing, Inc. NOTE:  A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a valid certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Community Health Nurse may be substituted for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) requirement specified above.

 

Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
