Duties:              Reports to the Library Director; performs entry-level professional library work of a varied nature at the Cumberland County Library including liaison to the Friends of the county library, public and media relations, readers’ guidance, reference services, materials selection, implementing community programs, grant writing and related work as required. 

Requirements:   Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited university and a New Jersey Professional Librarian’s Certificate. Ability to proficiently use software packages like Microsoft Work and Photoshop or equivalent programs. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and support of the principles of intellectual freedom. Demonstrated ability to comprehend the effective use of library electronic and/or manual recording and information systems. Ability to effectively read, write, speak and understand English.

Hours:            Work shifts vary. Will be required to work every third Saturday and one evening each week.

Note:                Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
