Program Specialist, Special Child Health Services

(Provisional, Pending Civil Service Procedures)

Salary Range: $39,305 - $53,464

 

Open to:                      Open to residents of Cumberland County.

Duties:                        Under direction performs field and office work involved in obtaining services for handicapped and potentially handicapped children and their families, and 
                                      
organizes/maintains all current and background information regarding a child's handicap, potential treatment, referrals, and social ramifications of
                                     
disability; does other related duties as required.  *This position is grant- funded.  Position may be eliminated if grant funds become unavailable.

                              

Requirements:           EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Nursing. A Master’s degree in Social 
Work or Nursing may be substituted for the educational requirement. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work preferred.  

LICENSE:  Appointees who possess a degree in Nursing must possess a valid registration as a Professional nurse in the state of New Jersey.

 

EXPERIENCE:  One (1) year of experience in providing social work Services, public health or nursing services in pediatrics working with handicapped or chronically ill  
      children.

Note:                          Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing to include drug screenings and criminal background checks.
