Biologist, Mosquito Extermination

Salary Range: $45,059 - $60,683
|
Duties: Under direction, performs laboratory and field work requiring application of biological and closely related principles and techniques; identifies locations for sampling points for the following season; determines the most effective pesticide treatments using larvicides and and/or adulticides; identifies areas suitable for biological control, supervises its implementation, and monitors its effectiveness; provides information and educational sessions to the general public; trains staff on identification of breeding areas, use of equipment, sampling, species identification, and proper use of pesticides; does other related duties as required.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the biological sciences.
Hours: Typical work shifts are 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours required.
Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing that includes drug screenings, criminal background checks, and verifications of clean driving records.
