Starting Salary: $37,834
Provisional Appointment Pending Civil Service Procedures

Duties: Reports to the Department Head or other supervisory designee; provides remedial instruction on the elementary and/or secondary level to further the education of the facility’s residents; develops lesson plans; administers tests to determine scholastic standing; confers with local school authorities, child study teams, and other parties on student progress; does related work as assigned.
Requirements: Possession of a valid New Jersey regular Teacher's Certificate and 15 semester hour credits in any one or in any combination of the following subject areas: compensatory education, affective education, urban education, special education, group dynamics, guidance or counseling.
Possession of a valid New Jersey regular High School Teacher’s Certificate or Teacher of the Handicapped (K-12) with highly qualified designation (i.e. English, Math, Social Studies, Science) preferred.
Hours: Typical work shift is 7:30am – 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
