Coordinator, Workforce Development Program

(Renewal and Sustainable Energy Sector Grant; 12-15 Month Temporary Position)

Starting Salary:  $41,000

 


Duties:
Reports to Division Director – Business Services or equivalent level administrative staff; maintains daily responsibility for grant activities of the South Jersey regional operations of the State Energy Sector Partnership Grant (SESP); provides guidance and technical assistance as region’s workforce expert in renewal/sustainable energy sector field; coordinates negotiation, modification and implementation of contracts and agreements for employment and training funded activities; performs outreach to and meets with businesses to promote on-the-job training (OJT); coordinates development and implementation of initiatives including group size classroom training projects to meet unique workforce needs of energy sector business or consortium of regionally based sector businesses; manages functions of regional advisory committee consisting of workforce development, education and business reps; provides meeting/event support including scheduling, planning, facilitation, participation and documentation; arranges, conducts or participates in workshops, committees, conferences and events to promote program development; develops standards and guidelines for service delivery; consults with staff and provides technical assistance and training in design and implementation of program plans and operations; works collaboratively in developing and implementing methods of client tracking and student progress and documentation; monitors and evaluates effectiveness of employment and training programs; coordinates data compilation for funding source; develops and prepares progress reports; maintains records and files; related duties as requested.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Four years of development, implementation or coordination experience with a multi-phase employment and training program. A related master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Familiarity with workforce needs and trends in sustainable and renewable energy sector field preferred. Possession of valid N.J. driver’s license.

 

Note: Requires 35 weekly hours and considerable southern N.J. travel. Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness screening and criminal background checks.
