Maintenance Repairer – Low Pressure License (Provisional)

Buildings and Grounds Department

Starting Annual Salary:  $33,726



Reports to and works under the direction of the Department Head or his/her designee; performs a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks singularly or in any combination of in: masonry, plastering, carpentry, painting, plumbing, steam fitting, sheet metal, electrical, glazing, and mechanical; replaces light bulbs, fuses, wall plates, fixture cords and switches; cleans tools and equipment; fires and maintains low pressure boilers; performs related duties as requested. 


Possession of a Fireman’s Low Pressure License or Black Seal Operator’s License, issued by the N.J. Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Knowledge of methods and materials used in general maintenance and repair work. Ability to understand, organize, recall, and effectively carry out oral and written work assignments.


8-hour work shifts, 10 days in a two-week pay period. Some weekend shifts required. Work shifts include a paid half-hour meal break.
