Food Service Worker
Juvenile Detention Center
Salary Range: $23,472 - $30,923

Duties: Reports to and works under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor; performs food service and/or cleaning food service facilities and equipment; washes, scrubs, pares, hulls, cores, prepares and cooks food; assists in serving food from steam tables or from other cooking utensils and arranges and delivers trays; delivers food to dining room; washes dishes, trays, pots, pans, silverware and other kitchen service equipment; related duties.

Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Knowledge of methods and materials used in cleaning, polishing, and in maintaining kitchen, storage and food service areas in a clean, sanitary, orderly and safe condition. Ability to understand, organize, recall, and effectively carry out oral and written work assignments.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekends and some holiday shifts required. Work shifts include a paid half-hour meal break.
