Principal Engineer
(A full-time, temporary position of about one year in duration)

$59,483 - $74,354

Duties: Reports to the County Engineer; performs highly responsible field and office engineering involved in the design, maintenance, and construction of highways, other roads or streets; serves as project manager / resident engineer for large roadway construction project; gives suitable assignments and instruction to assigned employees; prepares reports; related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or possession of a professional engineer’s license issued by the N.J. Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Three years of related professional engineering experience. A master’s degree in the appropriate engineering field may be substituted for one year of experience. Possession of a valid N.J. driver’s license.
