JOB TITLE: Building Maintenance Worker - Interim

SALARY RANGE: $28,212 - $36,638
HOURS/WEEK: 40 hours per week

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direction of a supervisory official, performs varied simple and moderately physically strenuous tasks involved in cleaning and maintaining offices, furniture, buildings and grounds; may assist in making minor repairs to buildings or equipment; does other related duties as required. Assists Maintenance Repairer- LPL. May mow lawns, trim hedges, rake leaves, trim driveway and sidewalk edges, shovel snow and spread sand or salt on slippery surfaces. Removes trash from grounds. When assigned, moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds. When necessary, moves & controls heavy equipment, and carries, sets up, and works from ladders & scaffolding. Runs power cleaning equipment, cleans and oils the equipment, and changes brushes and accessories.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of procedures, materials, and tools used in washing, waxing, vacuuming and polishing wood, tile, cement, linoleum, glass and other woodwork, furniture and fixtures. Ability to handle cleaning problems, lift and move moderately heavy objects, organize cleaning work, and develop work methods. Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written directions, to learn quickly from directions and demonstrations. Ability to read, wrtie, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Ability to work effectively with other employees.
