JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direction, coordinates all activities of the County Alliance Prevention Programs in accordance with the guidelines of the Governors Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. Reviews applications of grants, and monitors programs for compliance through fiscal and programmatic reports. Maintains an accurate reporting system demonstrating program accountability. Identifies resources for ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) information. Facilitates community awareness and knowledge of alcohol and drug prevention activities. Provides technical assistance to local Alliances regarding ATOD efforts. Assists with annual needs assessment and prevention plans. Prepares annual County Alliance Plan. Conducts local committee meetings, and attends monthly meetings of the Governors Council and Alliance Coordinators.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from accredited college with Bachelors degree. Two (2) years of experience in the review, analysis, and evaluation of the operations of an organization. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in alcoholism, drug abuse education, prevention or treatment programs.

Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug abuse and dependence, knowledge of the social, economic problems of substance dependent individuals. Ability to evaluate and assess the ATOD prevention needs and problems of communities. Ability to prepare clear and accurate documentation of findings and progress reports; and maintain essential records and files. Applicants will be required to apply and obtain NJ Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) within two years from date of employment.
