Storyteller Queen Nur visits Cumberland County Library

On Saturday, August 8, at 2pm, Cumberland County Library will host a free public program, “Sweet Potato Pie and Such!,” featuring Queen Nur, in a Theatreworks USA presentation. Clap your hands, stomp your feet and sing along with incomparable storyteller Karen “Queen Nur” Abdul-Malik and her percussionist partner as they dish up a tasty treat of multicultural stories, songs and dance, featuring the influence of the African Diaspora. This highly energetic and interactive performance will delight, as well as enlighten, the young. Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders through the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission. For more information please contact the library at (856) 453-2210, ext. 103.
