Bridgeton Library Announces Activities for December

Preschool Story Time

Tuesdays, December 13, 20, and 27 at 10:30 am.  Children ages 2-6 and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs, finger plays, crafts and a snack.  Story time is free and does not require registration. 

 

Teen Tuesday – A weekly program for teens ages 12-18 funded by a Community Development Block Grant.

Tuesday, December 6 at 6pm – Teen Library Council Meeting. TLC members help plan programs for teens and children, choose new books for the library, and much more! New members welcome.

Tuesday, December 13 at 6pm – Teen Anime Night. Teens can watch newly released anime & help choose new anime and manga for the library. Those who like to draw are encouraged to bring their art. No registration required.

Tuesday, December 20 at 6pm – Teen Winter Party Celebrate the season at our winter party. We’ll have snacks, games, crafts and more. Please register.Tuesday, December  27 at 6pm  - Movie & Pizza – Enjoy a pizza dinner while watching a newly released movie that you get to choose. Go to our Teen Facebook page to vote for a movie about kids filming a super 8 movie, or a movie about cowboys fighting aliens. Please register.

 

Night Out at the Movies

Thursday, December 8, 6-8:30 pmAdults and teens are invited to watch the critically acclaimed movie based on the bestselling novel, The Help, by Kathryn Stockett. Enjoy our free popcorn or bring your own snacks. Rated PG-13.

 

Cumberlads Performance

Friday, December 9 at 7pm. – The Cumberlads, a twenty-five voice a cappella        mens group under the direction of Gene Tubertini, will perform at the library. The performance is free, however are donations are welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of the Bridgeton Library.

 

Family Movie Night

Thursday, December 15 at 6pm. – Families are invited to watch a newly released movie on our big screen. Jim Carrey stars as Mr. Popper, a New York City businessman whose life is turned upside down when a penguin comes into his life. Rated PG.

 

Book Discussion

Monday, December 12 at 1:30 pmFeatured book: Shakespeare by Bill Bryson.

 

Create a “Gingerbread” House

Saturday, December 17 at 1-2:30 pmKids of all ages are invited to use candy and graham crackers to create their own fantasy gingerbread house! All supplies will be provided by the library.  Please register by December 16th.

 

Photo with Santa!

Saturday, December 17, 1-3 pm. Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule to stop at the library! Children of all ages are invited to visit with Santa and have a photo taken with him. A 4 x 6 photo may be purchased for $5, with additional copies available for $1 each. Each child will receive a small gift from Santa. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library and will be used for teen programs.

 

Holiday Hours

Christmas EveSaturday, December 24. The library will be closed.

Christmas Day Monday, December 26. The library will be closed.

New Years Eve Saturday, December 31. The library will be open from 10-2 pm.
