12/14/2010 - December Children's Events At Cumb. Co. Library

December Children’s Events
At Cumberland County Library

On Tuesday, December 7th, the theme is LET’S GET IN SHAPE! The time is 6:30 PM for 3-8 year olds and 9-14 year olds are invited to come at 7:30 PM.

We are focusing on fitness. Get ready to get in shape as we move our bodies and remember to BREATHE. Yoga will be offered at 6:30 pm and Zumba is planned for our 7:30 time. The yoga will be age appropriate for younger participants with soft rhythms and easy movements along with other children. Zumba is faster paced and will require a bit more coordination.

On Saturday, December 11th the theme is SCRAPBOOKING. The time is 1 PM for ages 8 and older.

If you participated in our Wetlands/Appel Farm trip or any of our many programs this past summer, you are especially invited to our scrapbook afternoon at the library. Those who pre-register and have participated in previous programs will find photographs to scrapbook available when they arrive, or participants can bring their own photographic choices. Plan to spend an hour or more as we make our photos into memories.

Pre-registration is necessary to ensure enough materials will be on hand. Limited to fifteen persons.

On Tuesday, December 14th COMPUTER NIGHT will be held. The time is 6:30 PM for 3-8 year olds and 9-14 year olds are invited to come at 7:30 PM.

Computer Night at the Library happens once each month. Younger children are invited to bring their moms and dads and who know what they will learn from each other. Lots of people send cards to loved ones near and far. Come and make two cards to share with others.

On Tuesday, December 21st there will be a WETLANDS INSTITUTE and APPEL FARM Photo Display. The time is 6:30 PM for all ages.

During November the Cumberland County Library took a trip to the Wetland Institute in Stone Harbor in the morning and to Appel Farms for a play in the afternoon. Participants were given cameras to record their experience and the best of the photographs will be on display in our gallery on the lower level this evening and into the New Year. Join us for the opening of this exhibit and congratulate the artists. Light refreshments will be served at the reception.

Join us for one or all of our programs and stay in touch with your library!

The library welcomes children of all abilities. These programs are free unless otherwise stated. Preschool groups are required to pre-register. Saturdays as announced.
