The annual Hummingbird Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, August 28-29, at the Maurice River Botanical Gardens, 28 Main Street, Heislerville. Hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Besides the hummingbirds, there are many species of butterflies and other fauna to see.

This stunning private garden features hardy tropicals, plants that attract butterflies and hummningbirds. You can see monkey puzzle trees, hardy and tropical bananas, hardy palms and many other unusual plants.

There will be guided tours, plants for sale and a few vendors.
