Dotty Cullen of Vineland has drawn praise from throughout the state for her volunteerism and advocacy for veterans.

A former USO dancer, Cullen fell in love with the democratic process after moving to Washington, D.C., when she was a teenager.

She has been hosting holiday parties at the New Jersey Memorial Home in Vineland for years and worked for the State Department of Military and Veteran Affairs from 1985 to 1998.

Cullen has been recognized by Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and Assemblyman Nick Asselta for helping the residents of the Memorial Home live richer and more fulfilling lives.
