7/8/2014 - Aesop's Fables Puppet Show at Library

Aesop’s Fables Puppet Show at Cumberland County Library

On Saturday, July 26, at 2pm, the Cumberland County Library will host a free public program, Jim West’s “Aesop’s Fables”, a Theatreworks USA presentation. Aesop’s delightful fables of wit and wisdom, including The Stag at the Pool, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Fox and the Grapes, and The Lion and the Mouse come to life through the large and colorful puppets of nationally acclaimed puppeteer and storyteller, Jim West. We also meet Aesop himself with his dog Moral by his side. Other beloved characters, ingeniously created from paper bags, newspaper and cardboard boxes, make their appearance to the enchanting music of Scarlatti, Beethoven, Rossini, and Chopin, inspiring the child in everyone. For more information please contact the library at (856) 453-2210, ext. 103.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders through the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
