DIG INTO READING IS THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY LIBRARY’S

2013 SUMMER READING PROGRAM THEME

During the summer library program,  readers of all ages will explore all things underground as the Cumberland County Public Library presents “Dig Into Reading”. Activities include programs on gardening, worms, treasures, animals that live underground, caves, rocks and more.

The 2013 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, toddlers through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, and more. The schedule is as follows:

July 15th at 1:30pm: Gardening with Miss Magee. Ages 0-4.

July 16th at 6:30pm: Books are sprouting up! Children will start a garden. Ages 5-13.

July 22nd and 29th at 1:30pm: Discovering Rocks. Ages 0-4.

July 23rd at 6:30pm: Where do rocks come from and where have they been? Ages 5-13.

July 30th at 6:30pm: Welcome Rick Waterhouse and his mining adventures! Open to all ages!

August 5th at 1:30pm: Wiggly Worms Exploration. Ages 0-4.

August 6th at 6:30pm: It’s a worm world! Ages 5-13

August 12th at 1:30pm: We Dig Dinosaurs! Ages 0-4.

August 13th at 6:30pm: Dinosaur and Fossils. Ages 5-13.

August 19th at 1:30pm: Reading is a Treasure! Ages 0-4

August 20th  at 6:30pm:  Finding the Treasures. Ages 5-13

August 26th at 1:30pm and the 27th at 6:30pm: Award Ceremonies

Early registration for Dig Into Reading begins on June 17th 2013. The official Summer Reading Kickoff will be celebrated along with the library’s 50th anniversary on July 13th 2013 from 10am-3pm.
