3/19/2013 - Holocaust Resource Center Presentation

The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and The New Jersey Council for the Humanities will hold a library presentation at the Cumberland County Library in Bridgeton, New Jersey on Wednesday, April 10 from12:00-2:00.

This presentation is for librarians and  the community.

The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center has written over forty memoirs with Holocaust survivors.  Five of these memoirs are from Cumberland County Holocaust survivors.  More are in process. Each memoir includes an introductory chapter about the history of immigration and its importance to South Jersey and Cumberland County. The Center would like to donate these memoirs to the Cumberland County libraries and introduce staff and community to these memoirs and to some of the Holocaust survivors.

As part of the program, Stockton educators would speak about the history of immigration from Europe to South Jersey, their experiences during the Holocaust, and about the survivors’ experiences in South Jersey.  The educators and local Holocaust survivors will answer questions.

This presentation was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations in this program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities or the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
