County Offers Help To The Disabled

The Cumberland County Office on Aging and Disabled announces that requests for service will be accepted from county residents with physical disabilities through the Cumberland County Personal Assistance Services Program.

County Offers Help To The DisabledThe program assists eligible people who are participating or wish to take part in community-based activities such as employment, school, volunteering or training.

Under the Personal Assistant Services Program, personal assistants may help consumers with personal tasks such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping and errands and correspondence.

Applicants must live in the county, be permanently and physically disabled, be between ages 18 and 65, not live in an institution, and be capable of directing and supervising their own services.
