3/12/2011 - Animal Sculpture From Clay At County Library

Cumberland County Library is hosting a display of animal sculptures by two artists associated with the Clay College Ceramic Arts Studio of Millville.

Using clay that is formed by hand, and fired at a very high temperature, Mary C. Rowson creates realistic animal forms which express her love and respect for animal species.

Susan Jackman has a whimsical approach, particularly in her interpretation of owls. These owls were seen by her in a dream and she formed them from clay and used a wood fire process to create the unique creatures.

Have you ever seen a parliament of owls? We have one at the Cumberland County Library!

The library is open Monday through Wednesday 9 AM to 8:45 PM and Thursday through Saturday 9 AM to 4:45 PM. Call 856-453-2210 ext. 100 or go to our web site www.clueslibs.org.

The county library is located at 800 E. Commerce St.(Route 49), Bridgeton, NJ.
