9/22/2010 - Literacy Volunteers Sought

Tri-County Community Action Partnership's Literacy Volunteers program will conduct a tutor training course beginning Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Trained tutors will work one-on-one with adult learners.

Tri-County Community Action Partnership's Literacy Volunteers program will conduct a tutor training course beginning Wednesday, September 22, 2010The course will run for five consecutive Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in Tri-County's administrative offices, 110 Cohansey St., Bridgeton. The training is free and open to the public, but tutor trainees must attend at least four of the five sessions to graduate and become certified to tutor. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Tri-County has provided literacy services in Cumberland and Salem counties for the last 12 years and is accredited by Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey. Trained tutors generally meet one to two hours per week with learners.
