Cumberland County Office of Consumer Protection

The Cumberland County Office of Consumer Protection is part of the New Jersey Consumer Affairs and was instituted and is financially supported by the Freeholders of Cumberland County. The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, which our office is a part of, is the most progressive and effective consumer agencies in the nation.

Contrary to the popular conception that it is merely a market-place complaint bureau, the agency has broad regulatory powers.

The director of the division and our office is under the Department of Law and Public Safety which is headed by the Attorney General, is charged with the administration of the Consumer Fraud Act, NJSA 56:8-25 and the enforcement of the regulation under (NJAC 13:45A-1 etseq.)
