Cumberland County Surrogate Office

The objectives of the Cumberland County Surrogate's Office is to carry out the statutory functions in accordance with Title 3B of the New Jersey Statutes.  We will continue the same public service that has become a model in other Surrogate's offices in the state, with cooperation and compassion to clients who require our services at a most difficult time in their lives. We will continue to maintain the professional relationship that we have with the attorneys and all who appear in this office.

Surrogate Rainear will continue to speak at meetings of organizations to discuss the functions of the Surrogate's office, to better inform the public through these discussions. He will distribute informative pamphlets which have been designed for the general public so they may better understand the duties of the Surrogate's office, including the value of having a will, and general probate procedures.
