COUNTY CLERK'S IDENTIFICATION CARDS DISCONTINUED
Effective immediately, the Cumberland County Clerk's Office will no longer issue Official Identification Cards. We are discontinuing this service based on significant changes in federal law through the Department of Homeland Security, which require that government issued cards meet heightened security requirements to be valid. Under the federal "REAL ID" guidelines, our cards are no longer acceptable for boarding commercial aircraft or entering government facilities and are no longer valid. The decision to discontinue this service is to help our citizens avoid delays, disappointment and inconvenience when traveling.
Citizens requiring official photo identification are urged to obtain either a US Passport or Passport Card or a New Jersey Non-Driver's Identification or New Jersey Driver's License. You may apply for a US Passport or Passport Card at the Cumberland County Clerk's Office during regular business hours. Please call 856-453-4860 for further details.
Citizens wishing to obtain a New Jersey Non-Driver's Identification or New Jersey Driver's License should contact the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission. The Motor Vehicle Commission has offices on Broad Street in Bridgeton and on Landis Avenue in Vineland. You may visit the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission's website at www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/NonDriverID.htm.
