Human Relations Commission:
History

In June of 1990, the Attorney General called a Special Prosecutor's meeting, part of which involved community leaders.  The Attorney General requested that each County Prosecutor become involved with, or establish a county-wide commission of community representatives and law enforcement officials to meet on a periodic basis and to establish ongoing dialogue that addresses the problems of mutual concern to both law enforcement and various segments of the community.

In accordance with this request, the Board of Chosen Freeholders passed a Resolution on May 23, 1991, establishing a Cumberland County Community Relations Council.  In 1994, the name was changed to the Cumberland County Human Relations Commission.  There are presently 27 members appointed as Commissioners.
