Our Mission
We are dedicated to the promotion and protection of the public's health in collaboration with our community partners to benefit the residents of Cumberland County
Our Vision
Cumberland County Department of Health is the community gateway to Public Health awareness focusing on the ten essential public health functions.
The 10 essential public health services
- Monitor health status to identify community health problems and community resources
- Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community
- Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues
- Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems
- Develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts
- Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety
- Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
- Assure a competent public health and personal health care workforce
- Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based health services
- Research for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems
The Cumberland County Board Of Health meetings are held in the conference/meeting room of the Board Of Health Office, 309 Buck Street in Millville, NJ on the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., except as otherwise noted because of a holiday conflict.
